When to Contact a Fertility Clinic?

Here are some common reasons to speak with a TRIO Care Navigator:

You’re under 35 and have been trying to conceive for 1 year without success.
You’re 35 or older and have been trying to conceive for 6 months without success.
You or your partner have a known condition that may impact fertility (such as endometriosis, PCOS, or a history of cancer treatment).
You have irregular periods, a history of recurrent miscarriages (two or more), or a family history of early menopause or primary ovarian insufficiency.
You or your partner have risk factors or symptoms of infertility, such as previous pelvic or testicular surgery, or a history of STIs.
You are interested in fertility preservation for personal or medical reasons.
You are part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and seeking support for family building or third-party reproduction.
You have concerns about your reproductive health, even if you are not currently trying to conceive.

Meet a few of our specialists:

Dr. Paul Chang, MD, FRCSC, REI (He/Him)

Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility Specialist (REI)

Dr. Chang graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as a Royal College Fellowship in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (and Minimally Invasive Surgery), at the University of Western Ontario.

His clinical interests include PCOS, endometriosis, and pre-implantation genetic testing.

Dr. Chang is committed to helping patients reach their fertility goals as directly and efficiently as possible.

Dr. Beth Gunn, MD, FRCSC, REI (She/Her)

Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility Specialist (REI)

Dr. Gunn graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Alberta and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She then completed a Fellowship in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Toronto.

Her clinical and research interests include reproductive health, ART, and ovulation induction.

Dr. Gunn is dedicated to providing evidence-based, patient-focused fertility care.

Dr. Sony Sierra, MD, FRCSC, REI (She/Her)

Deputy Medical Director and Partner

Dr. Sierra has been a Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility Specialist since 2006, with expertise in recurrent pregnancy loss.

Along with Dr. Laskin, Dr. Sierra co-leads Canada’s largest early Recurrent Pregnancy Loss (RPL) program.

Dr. Sierra is an Associate Physician at Women’s College Hospital, Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, and served as President of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) for 2022-2023.

Dr. Sierra is dedicated to providing excellent, compassionate infertility care.
